Iran exported goods and gas condensates worth $28.17 billion in the eight months to November 20, said the head of Iran's Trade Promotion Organization.

Mojtaba Khosrowtaj told IRNA that the figure indicates a growth of 5.7 percent against the amount for the same period last year.

Khosrowtaj, who is also the deputy minister of industry, mine and trade, said that in the seven months to October 21, the export of carpet and moquette reached $170 million while handwoven carpets brought $166 million in revenues.

During the same period, he noted, Iran exported pharmaceuticals and medical equipment valued at $103 million showing a growth of 50 percent compared to the figure for the same period last year.

According to Iran Customs Administration, Iran's non-oil exports last year stood at $42.415 of which $6.664 billion pertained to gas condensates.

Iran has targeted an earning of $50 billion from the export of goods and gas condensates for the year to March 2017.
