Gholam Hossein Shafei has been reelected as the ninth president of Iran Chamber of Commerce in Sunday elections, in which private sector businessmen and women voted to elect the ninth formation of the chamber.
Shafei, former president of Iran Chamber of Commerce and the sitting president of Mashhad Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (MCCIMA), was reelected as the president by getting 302 votes out of 448 ballots.
He was competing against Yunes Jaele, president of Tabriz Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (TCCIMA), who won 140 votes.

The voting for the ninth makeup of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) started at 8 in the morning Sunday and lasted until 2 pm.
Shafei has been leading the private sector parliament from his office in Taleghani Street since 1 December 2013.
Hossein Selah Varzi, president of Lorestan Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (LCCIMA), has also been elected as the first vice president.
Masoud Khansari, president of Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (TCCIMA), will take up the second vice presidency.
Mohammad Reza Ansari, former vice president, has remained in his position as the third VP during the elections.
Also, Mohammad Amirzadeh, head of Didas construction company, has made his way to the Iran Chamber of Commerce as the fourth vice president.
Keyvan Kashefi, ex VP and head of Iran-Syria Joint Committee, was chosen as secretary of the board of governors.
Gholam Hossein Jamili, president of Zanjan Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ZCCIMA) was elected on Sunday as the chancellor of the new board of governors.
