Leaders of Iran private sector underlined the necessity for signing trade agreement with neighboring countries.
Board members of Iran Chamber of Commerce Industries, Mine, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) and the heads of local chambers convened on Sunday when they conferred different issues with the Head of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPO) Alireza Peimanpak who was also present at the meeting.
Speaking during the meeting Iran Chamber President Gholam Hossein Shafei said that politics has to be at the service of economy so as to help Iran’s relations with regional countries.
He noted that the regional countries have been active in trade agreements while Iran has had a weak presence in this field.
Shafei regretted that even the few trade agreements Iran have already signed are not balanced agreements.
He called for inking trade agreements with different countries.
In the meantime, the TPO head said that the organization will undoubtedly make use of the potentials of the private sector for future planning.
Elaborating on TPO priorities, Peimanpak said that “we have already finalized the dispatch of 30 commercial attachés.”
Noting that establishment of trade centers in target countries is also on the agenda of the organization, he said that “six active centers have so far become active with special plans for rendering services and expansion of the market, three of which are operating in cooperation with Iran Chamber of Commerce which include centers in Syria, Kazakhstan, and the UAE.”
He said that the Russian market has also be taken into account as it enjoys high potentials.
Peimanpak also said that the TPO is seeking to finalize an agreement with Eurasia Economic Union and has also focused on East Asia, Pakistan and Russia.
