Iranian Minister of Road and Urban Development Rostam Qassemi left Tehran for Moscow on Tuesday night for transportation discussions.
During his stay in the Russian capital, the Iranian minister is scheduled to meet with his Russian counterpart and other officials from the country to mull agreements on joint transportation projects.
Qassemi will also discuss the launch of the North South Transportation Corridor (NSTC) and the railway linking Iran’s southeastern port city of Chabahar to Russia.
Negotiations on increasing flights between the two countries and electrifying the Inchebron-Garmsar railway is also on the agenda of Qassemi’s visit to Russia.
Transportation problems have always been a major impediment on the way of trade relations between Iran and Russia.
