Iranian tire manufacturers produced 5,968,536 million car tires during the first three months of the Iranian year, March 21-June 21, indicating a one percent drop compared to the corresponding figure for the preceding year.
The number of produced tires weighed over 62,494 tons, with a 2% drop year-on-year, IRNA reported.
According to statistics, in the said period, 39,083 tons of passenger car tires were produced, showing a 6% rise year-on-year.
Meanwhile, 5,620 tons of pickup truck tires were produced, indicating an 18% fall, and 12,056 tons of truck and bus tires were produced, showing a 10% drop.
Production of the tires of agricultural vehicles underwent a decline of 12% to stand at 4,835 tons, and that of road building and industrial vehicles fell 20% to 900 tons in the period under review.
In the first three months of the present year, 4,392 tons of bicycle and motorcycle tires were also produced.
Director of Iran’s Tire Industry Guild Association Hamidreza Abdolmaleki said on Saturday that the Iranian tire producers are eying to export their products to East Europe and Russia.
He told IRNA economic correspondent that the efforts to export Iranian tire to East Europe and Russia are being made after the country had a successful presence in the markets of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
