Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade Reza Fatemi Amin survived a second impeachment on Monday to remain in charge of one of the country’s most economically important ministries.
This is the second time that Fatemi Amin receives a yellow card from the Iranian Parliament during his 400 days in office.
The Iranian lawmakers had questioned the minister about his performance in the areas of auto-making, and steel industry as well as fight against corruption and failing to fulfill his promises in these areas.
It seems that the explanations provided by the minister of industry won the satisfaction of the Iranian members of parliament as a large majority of them decided to give him another chance and voted for him to remain in the post.
A total of 84 lawmakers voted in favor of the impeachment and another 182 voted against it, with six abstentions.
