China's imports from Iran fell by 42% in the first two months of 2023 compared to figures from the same period in 2022, according to China customs statistics.
January-February transactions between Iran and China stood at $2.098 billion which showed a 17% decline from the same period of 2022 when the volume of trade between the two countries amounted to $2.536 billion.
China exported as much as $1.41 billion worth of commodities to Iran in the period under review which registered a 6% growth YOY.
China's exports to Iran stood at $1.33 billion in the corresponding period of 2022.
Iran's January-February exports to China, however, fell from last year's $1.206 billion to $688.
