Iran has exported some 15.812 million metric tons (mt) worth as much as $3.32 billion of mining products in the first three months of the current calendar year (March 21–June 21), an official report says.
A report released on Saturday by Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) also said that the country’s exports of mining products had reached 13. 717 mt worth some $3.275 billion in the corresponding March-June period last year.
Steel products accounted for the lion’s share of Iran’s mining exports in the June quarter with some $1.656 billion worth of sales, according to the report.
Iran also exported some $262.87 million of “iron pellet”, and $204.2 million of “other mining products”, with “copper and downstream industries”, “iron concentrate”, sponge iron and “aluminum and downstream products” being other main mining exports items in the three months to late June.
