Iran’s Ambassador to Ankara Mohammad Hassan Habibzadeh has termed the northwestern Iranian neighbor Turkiye as the country’s third biggest trade partner, accounting for 24% of Iran’s trade exchanges.
Habibzadeh made the remarks in a meeting held with provincial officials in Zanjan, northwestern Iranian province, on Wednesday.
About 14% of the figure is for Iran’s exports to Turkiye and the rest is for imports from the neighboring country, the ambassador underlined.
Referring to this year’s 12-billion-dollar trade volume between Iran and Turkiye, the ambassador said Iran plans to further increase the figure.
He noted that both Tehran and Ankara attach great importance to strengthening bilateral relations.
