President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) says that the ICCIMA has formed a special working group to pursue more increased relations between private sectors of Iran and China.
Hossein Selahvarzi made the remarks in a meeting in Tehran on Tuesday with Chinese Ambassador to Iran Chang Hua.
The Iran Chamber of Commerce president also proposed that the Chinese commercial attaché in Tehran becomes a member to the special working group of the Iran Chamber of Commerce to help trade relations between the two countries.
He said that the working group seeks to hold different events so as to introduce Iranian investment chances and to pave the way for more cooperation between the two countries on different digital, scientific and technological areas.
Selahvarzi also stressed the significance of China’s Belt and Road Initiative, and said that the Iran Chamber of Commerce has new plans to give a boost to cooperation between private sectors of Iran and China.
He also hailed a comprehensive 25-year deal between the two countries, urging both governments to take more serious measures within the framework of this deal to promote cooperation between the private sectors of the two nations.
Selahvarzi underlined the necessity for the Chinese embassy to ease visa requirements for Iranian businesspeople.
Speaking in the meantime, the Chinese ambassador welcomed the proposals made by the president of Iran Chamber of Commerce and said that Iran is an important country geographically and is also of special significance for the Belt and Road Initiative.
Ambassador Chang also referred to a meeting by the presidents of the two countries and said that “the private sector plays an important role in the commercial development of the two countries and we want to increase this role more than in the past.”
He also said that the embassy is seeking to find a way to ease visa requirements for Iranian businesspersons.
