The Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPO) has issued a report of the country’s non-oil exports over the six months to September 22 which disclosed that as much as 30% of Iran’s agricultural products and 44% of the country’s industrial products were bound for Iraq.
The report suggested that Iran exported a total of 67.7 million metric tons (mt) worth some $24.14 billion of non-oil products in the six-month period.
The figures showed a 29% hike in terms of tonnage while declining 2.6% in terms of value.
Petrochemical products and gas condensates had the biggest share (52%) of Iran’s non-oil exports in the period under study followed by mining products which accounted for 27% of the country’s non-oil products in the time span.
The industrial sector was responsible for 15.06% of Iran’s non-oil exports in this period, the TPO report suggested.
China was the top destination for Iran’s petrochemical and oil-based as well as mining products accounting for 33% of Iran’s exports of petrochemicals and 30% of the country’s mining products.
Iraq was also announced the top destination for Iranian industrial and agricultural products, receiving 44% of Iran’s industrial exports and 30% of agricultural exports in the six-month period.
