Iran has exported as much as $1.5 billion worth of agricultural products in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 – September 22), according to a recent report by the country’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO).
The TPO report suggests that Iran’s exports of agricultural products accounted for an almost 6.5% of the country’s aggregate exports in the period under review.
Iran’s agricultural exports has registered a 4% decline in terms of tonnage while increasing 22% in value terms, the report said.
It added that Iraq, the UAE, Russia, China and Afghanistan were respectively the top five destinations for Iran’s agricultural products in the six-month period.
