Iran has produced more than 14 million tons of wheat in 2023 Crop Year, according to a new report by the US Department of Agriculture.
The report said that Iran’s 2023 wheat production shows a six percent growth when compared to 13.2 million tons produced in 2022 Crop Year.
With this amount of production, Iran maintained its place as the world’s 13th biggest wheat producer.
The total world production of the grain stood at 782 million tons in the year under review, indicating a seven-million-ton decline compared to a year earlier, according to the report.
China became the world’s biggest wheat producer in 2023, producing more than 137 million tons of wheat in this period, followed by the European Union and India.
