In a bid to strengthen bilateral trade, Iran and Afghanistan have reportedly reduced border tariffs of transit of goods, according to an official with the knowledge of the matter.
Mohammad-Mehdi Javanmard Ghassab, an aide to Iranian President's special envoy for Afghanistan, said Iran and Afghanistan have reached an agreement on facilitating trade between the two neighboring countries.
He said that the agreement includes cutting some $70 from the total $245 received from the transit goods at the joint border.
The official added that a delegation from Iran’s Ministry of Roads and Urban Development is also scheduled to meet Afghanistan next week to discuss further facilitating bilateral trade.
