Samad Hassanzadeh, President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture, said on Monday that the chamber’s board of directors had met with President Masoud Pezeshkian to discuss a government support package for industrial units.
The meeting, held on Sunday evening, was attended by key economic ministers, including those of industry, economy, labor, and social welfare, as well as the central bank governor. Discussions focused on measures to bolster economic stability and employment.
Hassanzadeh stated that the chamber expressed support for the proposed package but emphasized the need for its effective implementation. He stressed that the private sector believes the support should extend not only to large industries but also to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across all sectors to safeguard jobs.
"The private sector recommends that special attention be given to smaller production units to prevent market volatility and sustain employment," he said.
Hassanzadeh expressed hope that the government would leverage private sector capacity to take effective steps toward national development. He added that the chamber had presented recommendations to the president and his economic team to stabilize the capital market.
