The president of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture has called on the government to seek timely input from the private sector as it drafts the national budget for the coming year, warning against fiscal policies that could impose additional burdens on businesses.

Samad Hassanzadeh, speaking at a meeting of the Chamber’s board of representatives on Sunday, said the private sector expected the government to “obtain its views in a timely manner” during the budget preparation process.

He added that active participation by the Chamber in providing expert opinions would be crucial to preventing decisions that could create “excessive pressures on the private sector through fiscal channels.”
