Japan’s ambassador to Iran met with the president of Iran Chamber of Commerce in Tehran on Sunday to explore ways to expand economic cooperation in sectors not affected by international sanctions.

Japan’s ambassador to Iran met with the president of Iran Chamber of Commerce in Tehran on Sunday to explore ways to expand economic cooperation in sectors not affected by international sanctions.

Samad Hassanzadeh, President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, told Ambassador Tamaki Tsukada that Iran is ready to strengthen ties with Japan across all fields. He said sanctions have created barriers for countries in dealings with Iran, but cooperation can grow in areas outside those restrictions.

Hassanzadeh proposed deeper collaboration in pharmaceuticals, hospital construction and the food industry, noting Japan’s strong track record in health and environmental protection. He also highlighted Iran’s need for modern agricultural technologies and praised Japan’s reputation in medical equipment manufacturing.

Ambassador Tsukada said Japan is interested in joint work in non-sanctioned sectors and urged a focus on technology transfer and human resources. He added that Iran has achieved notable results in human capital development, including nanotechnology and artificial intelligence.

“We request that Iranian engineers in new technologies come to Japan. There are good opportunities for their presence and activity there,” Tsukada was quoted as saying.

Hossein Selahvarzi, head of the Iran-Japan Joint Chamber of Commerce, said Iranians hold a positive view of Japan and called for cooperation in clean energy, sustainability and improving productivity and quality standards. He proposed a joint project to build a hospital for children or patients with special conditions.
