A senior Iranian business official met the head of China’s halal certification authority on the sidelines of the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) to explore deeper economic and trade cooperation in halal-certified products.
Qadir Qiafeh, vice president of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, held talks with Mr. Yu, who oversees halal certification for China, Hong Kong and Macau.
The meeting focused on expanding collaboration in the issuance and mutual recognition of halal certificates, a step both sides said could help boost Iranian exports to East Asian markets.
They also discussed potential joint work between Iran’s private sector and Chinese organizations involved in standardization and halal regulation.
