A senior Iranian business official met the president of the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) in Colombo to discuss regional economic developments and the need to maintain trade flows amid global instability.

Qadir Qiafeh, vice president of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, held talks with CACCI president Peter McMullen on the sidelines of the organization’s international conference in Sri Lanka on Thursday.

The two exchanged views on shifting regional dynamics, the role of national chambers in preserving economic stability, and the importance of ensuring uninterrupted trade during periods of international tension.

Both sides underlined Iran’s significant economic, industrial and cultural potential and said expanding commercial ties could help advance regional peace and stability.
