Iran’s private sector is prepared to take a leading role in strengthening economic relations with Kazakhstan, a senior Iranian business official said ahead of an upcoming trade mission accompanying the president.

Hamed Asgari, the International Affairs Deputy at Iran Chamber of Commerce, said the large business delegation travelling with the president marks a “turning point” in bilateral economic ties.

He said more than 100 major Iranian private companies will join the visit – an unprecedented number – signaling that relations between the two countries have moved beyond general discussions and into a phase focused on concrete projects.

Asgari said three agreements worth over 300 million euros are ready to be signed between Iranian firms and Kazakh partners. The memoranda cover areas ranging from logistics infrastructure development to industrial ventures and the export of Iranian technical and engineering services, he added.
