The chief executive of Iran's state IRNA news agency says one of the news agency’s key missions is to support chambers of commerce by amplifying their views to both the public and policymakers.
Hossein Jaberi Ansari made the remarks during a meeting in Tehran on Monday with Samad Hassanzadeh, president of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture.
Hassanzadeh said the Iran Chamber of Commerce acts as an advisory body to all three branches of government, with a mandate to identify key economic challenges and offer scientifically grounded, expert-driven solutions. He said these proposals are conveyed either through the media or directly to executive and decision-making bodies.
He added that Iran’s economic problems could be addressed through professional, evidence-based management, stressing that closer cooperation between chambers of commerce across the country and the media could play an effective role in achieving that goal.
Jaberi Ansari, for his part, said IRNA aims to serve as a communication bridge between the government and the public by reflecting the messages of both sides. He said the agency plans to expand its activities in the provinces, establish and strengthen regional offices, and deepen engagement with economic actors and chambers of commerce to ensure broader and more comprehensive coverage of society.
He also underlined the importance of interaction with elites and social institutions, saying he has already held regular meetings with provincial governors, economic stakeholders and chambers of commerce to accurately gather and convey social realities.
