Masoud Barhaman, the chairman of Iran-East Africa Joint Chamber of Commerce, says Africa’s need for construction of 97 million residential units can provide a chance for the presence of Iranian companies.
He said that Iran has introduced a project for constructing a smart city near Cameroon’s capital city of Yaoundé, noting that the project includes residential, commercial, cultural and sports areas.
Barhaman noted that the project could serve as the pilot presence of the Iranian contractors in the African construction market and pay the way for other joint projects in the continent.
