The Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture has issued a statement calling for reforms to the country’s economic governance structure, emphasizing that macroeconomic stability is a prerequisite for sustainable development.

The statement was approved with the backing of 85% of representatives at the chamber’s 30th meeting of its board of representatives.

It said that from the private sector’s perspective, economic stability underpins any development trajectory and depends on policy consistency, reduced political and regulatory risks, the rule of law and greater predictability in the macroeconomic environment.

The statement added that reforming Iran’s economic governance system should be pursued as a gradual and cross-institutional process grounded in national consensus, and that lasting stability and future-oriented growth would require stronger coordination between the government and the private sector.
