Iranian trade officials and heads of joint chambers of commerce have outlined the country’s economic needs during wartime and post-war reconstruction, pledging to leverage their capacities to sustain trade and repair supply chains.

A meeting, hosted by the international affairs department of the Iran Chamber of Commerce in Tehran on Monday, brought together heads of joint chambers to review actions taken during the US-Israeli war against Iran and propose measures to maintain production and trade stability.

Speaking during the meeting, Hamed Asgari the head of the international relations department of Iran Chamber of Commerce, highlighted the need for further engagement with target countries to repair and strengthen the supply chain.

Yahya Al-e Es’haq, head of the Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce, who had proposed the gathering, said two main reasons prompted the meeting: consulting on resolving wartime challenges and assigning chambers responsibilities for post-war planning.

Qadir Qiafeh, vice-president of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, who attended online, described using the capacity of joint chambers to resolve trade issues as an effective strategy. He called on all joint chamber heads and experienced private sector operators to make every effort to complete missing links in the supply chain.
