Iran’s Alborz Chamber chief urges state to back private sector to preserve jobs

The head of the Alborz Chamber of Commerce has called on the Iranian government to provide genuine support to the private sector to safeguard the country’s employment capacity amid wartime pressures.

The head of the Alborz Chamber of Commerce has called on the Iranian government to provide genuine support to the private sector to safeguard the country’s employment capacity amid wartime pressures.

“Iran’s private sector has remained active in the production cycle despite current difficulties,” Parham Rezaei, head of the Alborz Chamber, said. “We are not asking the government to allocate financing to the private sector. We only ask for support to use international facilities for transactions, so that production capacity can be maintained.”

Rezaei proposed three urgent measures to executive bodies and parliament. First, he said, the government should remove import ceilings and liberalize registration orders without requiring foreign exchange transfers. Second, he called for the suspension of obstructive regulations under wartime conditions. Third, he urged authorities to grant the private sector the necessary permits and access to international capacities.
