The head of the Khorramabad Chamber of Commerce has announced the launch of talks to expand economic and trade cooperation between Iran’s Lorestan province and Belarus, citing significant potential for exporting agricultural, greenhouse, and fishery products to the Belarusian market.

Mohammad Khaki, speaking during a meeting with Belarus’s Ambassador Dmitry Koltsov at the Belarusian embassy in Tehran, said that detailed information regarding Lorestan’s export capacities and capabilities would be sent to the embassy. He added that this would enable Belarus’s chamber of commerce to help introduce Lorestan’s economic opportunities.

Khaki further noted that both sides have agreed to plans for exchanging and dispatching trade delegations, hosting investors, and participating in relevant specialized exhibitions.

Stressing that Belarus could serve as a key gateway to regional and northern markets, Khaki said given the current circumstances and the need to pay greater attention to Iran’s northern border capacities, expanding cooperation with Belarus could create timely opportunities for economic activists and exporters from Lorestan.
