German private sector has invested more than 20 million euros to set up a fruit concentrate company in Iran’s West Azarbaijan Province, a local official said on Tuesday.
The German company Dohler, global producer of technology-driven natural ingredients, is set to unveil the first phase of Dohler Urmia Factory in the West Azarbaijan Province in coming weeks, said Ali Abdoli, Managing Director of West Azarbaijan Industrial States Company on Tuesday.
The factory’s groundbreaking ceremony took place two years ago in phase 3 of Urmia Industrial Estate.
It’s expected to generate direct employment for 130 people in the first phase and 500 in total should it be launchd completely.
The project is a 100% foreign investment in Iran, according to Abdoli.
Iran’s West Azarbaijan Province produces 1,200,000 tons of fruits per year and its one of the country’s fruit production hubs in the country.
“Strengthening concentrate companies plays an important role in the political development of the province,” managing director of West Azarbaijan Industrial States Company added.
The northwestern province borders Turkey, Iraq and Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, making it a great place for foreign investment to produce in Iran and export to regional countries.
Döhler is a global producer, marketer and provider of technology-driven natural ingredients, ingredient systems and integrated solutions for the food and beverage industry, according to the company’s website.
