Presidents of Iran and UAE chambers of commerce have explored ways for presence of joint Iranian and UAE companies in infrastructure projects of Iraq.
Presidents of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Hossein Selahvarzi and his Emirati counterpart Abdullah Al Mazrui met on the sidelines of the 35th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture (ICCIA) in Baku on Tuesday.
Speaking during the meeting, the Iranian side proposed for establishment of joint Iranian and UAE companies for partnership in Iraqi projects.
The proposal was welcomed by the UAE side and they agreed to exchange a list of projects.
Referring to the high potentials for further trade between Iran and the UAE, Selahvarzi urged the need for expansion of logistic cooperation and joint investments of the two countries in this area.
In the meantime, the president of UAE Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry recalled his recent visit to Tehran, expressing hope that execution of the agreements reached in his Tehran visit would give a boost to bilateral cooperation between the two neighboring counties.
Al Mazrui congratulated his Iranian counterpart for being elected to the post in a June 18 election.
The two sides agreed to plan for expansion of Iranian exports of non-sanctioned items to the UAE.
