Selahvarzi elected as Iran Chamber of Commerce president

Hossein Selahvarzi was elected as the president of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) on Sunday.

Hossein Selahvarzi was elected as the president of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) on Sunday.

The election to select the new president of ICCIMA was officially held on Sunday morning in Tehran with attendance of 426 members of the Board of Representative.

Selahvarzi secured 265 votes of the total votes cast to become the president of Iran Chamber of Commerce which is known as the country’s private sector parliament.

He was followed by Younes Jaeleh and Hossein Pirmoazzen with 95 and 62 votes respectively. The rest four votes were announced dismissed.

The new ICCIMA president replaces Gholam Hossein Shafei who served in the post since September 2016.

Shafei refrained to run for the 10th edition of the local chambers of commerce elections in March and will not be a member of the board of representatives in the new tenure.

The members of the ICCIMA Board of Representatives also elected six other board members.

The names of the rest board members follows: Mohammadreza Bahraman (Vice-President), Payam Bagheri (Second Vice-President), Samad Hasanzadeh (Third Vice-President), Qadir Qiafeh (Fourth Vice-President), Abdollah Mohajer (Treasurer), and Keyvan Kashefi (Secretary).
