Heading a politico-economic delegation, French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault will arrive in Tehran on Tuesday.
The visit will coincide with a session of the Iran-France joint economic commission which will be held at Iran Chamber of Commerce.

A 100-strong delegation of French businessmen will also accompany the minister who is scheduled to preside over the commission along with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif. Representatives from large French companies including Airbus and energy group Total are also present at the delegation.

The Iran-France joint economic commission holds its first meeting in 17 years.

Iranian and French businesmen will discuss bilateral cooperation at B2B sessions following the meeting.

The visit comes a year after the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action world powers signed with Iran. The P5+1 group of countries, comprising the United States, Russia, China, France and the United Kingdom plus Germany, signed the deal ensuring the peaceful nature of Tehran’s nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief.
