Algeria urged to use Iran’s medical, pharmaceutical potentials

President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) has urged Algeria to make use of Iran’s medical and pharmaceutical potentials, voicing the willingness of Iran’s private sector to share experiences in this regard.

Samad Hassanzadeh made the remarks in a meeting in Tehran on Sunday with his Algerian counterpart Kamel Hamenni.

Noting that the level of trade between Iran and Algeria is too low and not defendable, he said that the two countries enjoy great potentials that can help promote the level of exchanges.

He also proposed cooperation between Iran and Algeria on gas excavation and production of gas products.

The Iran Chamber of Commerce president also stressed the need for more cooperation and making joint investments in the area of production and transfer of industrial parts, particularly in the auto industry, agricultural and textile machinery, techno-engineering services, production of carpet and other handicrafts, road building, and bridge building.

Hassanzadeh called on the Algerian side to facilitate issuance of visa for Iranian economic activists, voicing Iran’s readiness to cancel visa requirements for Algerian businesspeople.

He said that Iran-Algeria Joint Chamber of Commerce is scheduled to be formed within the next two or three months.  

In the meantime, the president of Algeria Chamber of Commerce voiced the readiness of Algerian businesspeople to engage in trade with Iranian partners.  

Hamenni said that contracts were due to be signed with a number of Iranian pharmaceutical companies during the visit to Tehran by the Algerian delegation.

Noting that his country has free trade agreements with 57 African countries, he said that the Iranian companies can use this potential for presence in the African market.
