A number of Iranian businesspersons and Members of Parliament as well as representatives from some Syrian companies were also present at the meeting.

Referring to huge capacities for cooperation between Iran and Syria, Shafei said that holding a specialized exhibition of Iranian products in Damascus was a good chance for Syrian traders to get more familiar with the Iranian export commodities.

He also said that the inauguration of an Iranian trade center in Damascus was a major step for presence of Iranian private sector in Syria.

Underlining the need for Iran and Syria to trade with national currencies, he said that the two countries can also exercise barter trade.
