President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Samad Hassanzadeh has urged the need for facilitating trade with different countries across the world.

He made the remarks addressing a dinner banquet of Tehran-based diplomats hosted by the ICCIMA on Saturday on the occasion of the Persian New Year (Nowruz).

Iran Chamber of Commerce is resolved to make more contributions to the country’s economic progress and enhancement of foreign trade through expanded cooperation with the government, Hassanzadeh said.

He voiced the readiness of Iran Chamber of Commerce to help exchanges and economic cooperation with other world nations.

Referring to Iran’s strategic position in the region which bridges the East to the West, Hassanzadeh said that Iran can play a key role in international trade through cooperation with foreign countries.

He urged the need for facilitating the exchange of trade delegations, noting that, as a goodwill gesture, Iran has unilaterally waved visa requirements for a number of countries and expects them to reciprocate this measure so as to give a boost to economic and trade cooperation.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari, who was also present at the ceremony, said that expansion of economic cooperation with neighbors, regional and Asian nations as well as East countries is one of the top priorities of Tehran.

He hailed the role of the Chamber of Commerce and said that the Iranian government is not alone and the private sector has always proved helpful for the enhancement of the country’s bilateral and multilateral ties.
