Iran Chamber of Commerce stresses Iran’s export capacity for SCO states

Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) has said that Iran can play a key role as an export hub for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states.

Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) has said that Iran can play a key role as an export hub for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states.

An ICCIMA delegation, which accompanied President Ebrahim Raeisi during his visit to China, met with officials from the SCO Demonstration Area (SCODA) in Beijing where they discussed a wide range of issues.

During the meeting, Niloofar Assadi, the director of bilateral and multilateral relations of ICCIMA Department for International Affairs, underlined the significance of facilitating further cooperation between private sectors of Iran and China.

She noted that Iran’s joining SCO provides both Tehran and Beijing with more chances for economic cooperation that have to be seized.  

Assadi urged Iran and China to mobilize their potentials to give a boost to bilateral trade as the COVID restrictions are gradually easing.

Referring to Iran’s access to a 450-million-people market of neighboring countries and ECO states, she said that investors from SCO countries can use Iran as an export hub of the region.  

In the meantime, Lin Changhua, the Deputy Director of the SCODA Administrative Committee, hailed the significance of President Raeisi’s visit to China for future exchanges between the two countries.

Noting that Iran, as an SCO member country, is a target market for China, the official said that SCODA plans to provide facilities and services for this subjective.
