Iran, Russia discuss increased air transport cooperation

Head of Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization Mohammad Mohammadibakhsh, who is on a visit to Moscow, is in talks with different Russian officials on expansion of air transport cooperation with the neighboring country.

In a meeting on Tuesday with Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Igor Chalik, the Iranian official underlined the need for increasing the number of flights operating between the two countries and defining new destination cities.

He urged both sides to tap into tourism potentials to further increase the number of air passengers visiting the two countries.    

The Russian official, for his part, expressed hope that the cancellation of visa requirements would lead to a boom in the number of Russian visitors to Iran.

Chalik also voiced his country’s readiness to launch new flights to different Iranian cities.
