President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) says that the geographical position of Iran and Russia is so strategic that will benefit the multilateral cooperation with Arab regional countries and India.
Gholam Hossein Shafei, who is in Tatarstan to attend an international economic forum dubbed “Russia – Islamic World; Kazan Forum” 2023, made the remarks at a joint press conference with his Russian and Tatar counterparts in Kazan on Thursday.
He said that the visit to Tatarstan by an Iranian private sector delegation is being made in response to an earlier visit to Tehran by a Russian delegation.
There has never been such a “golden chance” for promotion of ties between the two sides, the Iran Chamber of Commerce president said.
Shafei believed that the economies of Iran and Russia and Tatarstan are complementary so that they can meet a significant part of the needs of each other.
“We need many products produced in Tatarstan while many of Tatarstan's needs in the fields of agriculture, industry, petrochemicals and oil can be supplied by Iran.”
