OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais is scheduled to hold separate meetings with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Oil Minister Javad owji in Tehran on Saturday to discuss the issues surrounding the global oil market.
Al Ghais arrived in the Iranian capital on Friday.
During his stay in Tehran, he and senior Iranian officials are going to review the supply and demand perspectives and discuss an ongoing OPEC meeting as well as a ministerial OPEC+ meeting.
Al Ghais was elected as new OPEC secretary general in August 1, 2022.
He replaced Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo who passed away few before the end of his tenure in early July.
