Iranian Minister of economy says that Tehran and Muscat have agreed to form a joint investment committee.

Ehsan Khandouzi said that the agreement was made during a visit to Iran by a top-ranking Omani delegation which requires the joint investment projects between the two counties to be confirmed in the joint investment committee.

The minister noted that Iran and Oman aim to move from a trade era to an investment era.

The two countries have also made an agreement for providing support to investments projects which will be signed by the two sides after being examined in the Omani parliament, Khandouzi said.

Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tariq al-Said arrived in Tehran for a two-day state visit on Sunday.

During the Omani Sultan’s stay in the Iranian capital, the two countries signed four agreements that were focused on economic and energy cooperation and on free trade zones.

An April report by Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) showed that the volume of trade between Iran and Oman hit $1.887 billion in the Iranian year to March 2023 to post a 41% in comparison to figures from the preceding year.
