Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines Groups (IRISL Group) announced it has launched a regular container shipping line to Syria.
The announcement said that the launch of the shipping line has been made in line with the policies of the Iranian government to expand trade ties with Syria.
Some 14 travels had been made from Iran to Syria in the last Iranian calendar year to late March 2023 in which 6,522 20-foot containers (TEUs) were transported to the Arab country, the announcement said.
It added that monthly maritime travels to Syria have also been planned in the current calendar year to dispatch Iranian commodities to the country.
