Iran private sector highly inclined to interaction with Saudi Arabia: Selahvarzi

President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) has voiced the readiness of Iranian private sector for more cooperation with Saudi Arabia.

Hossein Selahvarzi made the remarks in a meeting with President of Mecca Chamber of Commerce Abdullah Saleh Kamel who also chairs the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture (ICCIA).

The meeting happened on the sidelines of the 35th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture (ICCIA) in Baku on Tuesday.  

Selahvarzi said that in line with the economic diplomacy and de-escalation policy pursued by the Iranian government, the country’s private sector is much more eager to engagements with Islamic counties, including Saudi Arabia.

The Iran Chamber of Commerce president voiced the eagerness of Iran’s private sector for halal cooperation with the ICCIA member countries.

He urged the need for the ICCIA member countries to trade in national currencies.

Expressing his happiness with the resumption of ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia, Selahvarzi also expressed hope that Iran Chamber of Commerce will begin close cooperation with Saudi chambers of commerce.

The Saudi side, for his part, welcomed close cooperation with Iran Chamber of Commerce, expressing readiness for dispatching delegations to Iran and receive delegations from the country as well.  

He also stressed the need for further investments of ICCIA member states in different projects of one another.
