Iran’s exports exceed $32 billion in eight months

More than 90 million tons of products, valued at over $32 billion, were exported from Iran in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 – November 22), according to reports by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

More than 90 million tons of products, valued at over $32 billion, were exported from Iran in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 – November 22), according to reports by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

Iran’s exports of products in the eight-month period was 27 percent up in weight and 1.6 percent down in value compared to last year’s corresponding period.

In this timespan, Iran exported more than $2 billion of liquefied natural gas (LPG) and also over $2 billion of liquefied propane, the report said.

According to IRICA, most of Iran’s exports went to China, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Turkey and India respectively.

Iran exported more than $9 billion worth of products to China, over $6 billion to Iraq, more than $4 billion to the United Arab Emirates, over $3 billion to Turkey and more than $1 billion to India from March 21 to November 22, 2023.

In this period, more than 67 million tons of products, valued at more than $23 billion, were exported from the country to the aforementioned five countries, accounting for 70 percent and 73 percent of the country’s total exports in weight and value respectively.

In return, more than 24 million tons of products, valued at over $42 billion, were imported into the country from March 21 to November 22, 2023, indicating a 4.32 and 12.36 percent hike in weight and value respectively.
