An official at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Qatar said the volume of trade exchanges between Tehran and Doha has increased 43 percent in the recent years.

The general manager of Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry made the remarks in Tehran on Saturday during the inaugural ceremony of the 9th Iran-Qatar Joint Economic Cooperation Commission, expressing hope that the bilateral trade-economic cooperation between Tehran and Doha will further expand.

The current economic and geopolitics developments in the region and the world prompted officials of the two countries to take strides towards the evermore development of trade relations and investment as a joint venture, Saleh Al Ahmad Al Mana emphasized.

The secretary of the Iran-Qatar Joint Economic Cooperation Commission pointed to the key role of the private sector and said 845 Iranian companies are active in Qatar, which indicates that the trade-economic relations between the two countries have considerably increased from 2017 to 2022.

The memoranda of understanding (MoUs) inked previously between Iran and Qatar have strengthened the trade relations and joint investment between the two neighboring states, he added.

The 9th edition of the Iran-Qatar Joint Economic Cooperation Commission was launched in Tehran on Saturday in line with bolstering bilateral ties in the fields of trade and economy.
