Iran’s eight-month trade with neighboring countries hits $38.6 billion

Iran has exchanged as much as 63 million tons of products worth $38.6 billion with 15 neighboring countries in the eight calendar months to November 22, according to Head of the country’s customs administration.

Iran has exchanged as much as 63 million tons of products worth $38.6 billion with 15 neighboring countries in the eight calendar months to November 22, according to Head of the country’s customs administration.

Mohammad Rezvanifar said on Wednesday that Iran’s eight-month trade with neighboring countries registered 11.42% and 17.21% year-on-year increases in terms of value and tonnage, respectively.

The official noted that Iran has exported some $18.38 billion worth of goods from the neighboring countries, also importing $20.24 billion from these countries in the period under review.

He said that the value of Iran’s exports to neighboring countries shows a 20.75 hike in comparison to last year’s corresponding period.

Rezvanifar also added that Iran’s imports from its neighbors is up 6.87% in value terms YOY while increasing 13.95% in terms of tonnage.
