Iran’s one-year trade with Pakistan hits $2.75 billion

Iran and neighboring Pakistan have exchanged some 4,933 million metric tons of goods valued at $2.75 billion over the past Iranian calendar year to late March, according to an official familiar with the matter.

Iran and neighboring Pakistan have exchanged some 4,933 million metric tons of goods valued at $2.75 billion over the past Iranian calendar year to late March, according to an official familiar with the matter.

Rouhollah Latifi, the spokesman of the International Relations and Trade Development Committee of Iran’s House of Industry, Mining, and Trade, said that the figures indicate a 14.7% increase in weight and a 10% increase in value compared to those reported a year earlier.

Iran’s annual exports to Pakistan saw a 39% year-on-year increase last year to hit $2.07 billion.

Pakistan also exported a total of $673.9 million worth of good to Iran in the one-year timespan.

Both Tehran and Islamabad eye $5 billion in annual exchanges.
