Iran, Slovenia can reach $1bn trade: Chamber of Commerce

The two countries’ mutual trade has fallen to less than 100 million dollars under the current US sanctions. But, deputy ICCIMA for international affairs says there is a huge potential to raise the trade to one billion dollars.

Slovenias President Borut Pahor, heading a 60-strong economic delegation, attended Iran-Slovenia economic forum at Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) on Tuesday.

Slovenian president’s visit to Iran Chamber of Commerce

Heading a high-ranking politico-economic delegation, Slovenias President Borut Pahor visited Iran Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday and after meeting with Iran Chamber President Gholam Hossein Shafei, attended Iran-Slovenia Economic Forum. Over 400 Slovenian and Iranian businessmen and businesswomen participated in the event who further discussed trade ties in B2B negotiations.

Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture

Established in 1884, Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) is a non-profit and non-governmental institution which aims at facilitating economic growth and development in the country. Iran Chamber tries to further coordinate the activities of the private sector. As an economic forum, representatives from both the government and the private sector attend Iran Chamber's sessions. Meanwhile the institution acts as an advisory body to the government, parliament and judiciary.
