Iran's year-on-year inflation rate in the calendar month of Shahrivar (August 23 – September 22) stood at 45.8%, according to a recent report by Statistical Center of Iran (SCI).
The annual inflation rate calculated in Shahrivar shows a slight 0.6% rise compared to that of the preceding month, the report suggested.
The report put the annual inflation rate at 45.1 percent for urban households and 49.7 percent for rural households.
Iran's inflation rate compared to the same month last year (point-to-point inflation) shows that the Iranian people are spending an average 43.7% more for the same package of goods and services than they did a year ago.
The point-to-point inflation rate of this month shows a 0.5% increase in comparison to that of last month.
The point-to-point inflation rate of the main group of food, drinks and tobacco stood at 61.6% up 3.2% compared to figures from last month while the point-to-point inflation rate of other goods and services dropped 0.7% to reach 35.4% in Shahrivar.
