A recent report by China’s General Administration of Customs suggests that the volume of trade between Iran and China in the first five months of 2022 stood at $6.472 billion.
The figure shows an 18% increase compared to $5.481 billion of bilateral trade between the two countries in last year’s corresponding period.
China’s imports from Iran stood at $3.192 billion in the period under review registering a 26% increase in comparison to that of last year when the country took delivery of $2.535 billion of Iranian products.
China have also exported some $3.280 billion of commodities to Iran during the five-month period. The figure shows an 11% increase when compared to the country’s $2.946 billion of exports to Iran in last year’s corresponding period.
Trade between Iran and China in 2021 hovered around $14.8 billion, of which $6.5 billion accounted for the latter’s imports from Iran.
