The first specialized exhibition of Iran and Pakistan will kick off on Wednesday in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad.

The event is slated to be held from August 24th to August 26th.

A 50-member Iranian delegation, consisting of managers and representatives of 35 domestic companies, will take part in the exhibition with the aim of finding new opportunities to expand business cooperation.

The exhibition's inauguration ceremony is scheduled to be held on Wednesday in the presence of several Iranian and Pakistani officials.

Iranian companies in different fields including medicine and medical equipment, foodstuffs, construction machinery, technology and telecommunications, energy, and oil and gas and petrochemicals will attend this exhibition.

The exhibition is the first commercial-economic event between the two neighboring countries after the 21st session of the Joint Economic Commission of Iran and Pakistan which was held after five years in Islamabad last week.

The 21st Session of Iran-Pakistan Joint Economic Commission is held in Islamabad, Pakistan August 17, 2022.

As part of the Commission session, representatives from chambers of commerce of Iran and Pakistan agreed to form a committee to resolve the trade disputes between Tehran and Islamabad.

They also reached agreements on a different range of issues including, the dispatch of an Iranian private sector delegation to Karachi, Pakistan, exchange of trade information, execution of barter trade agreements between the two countries and forming an Iran-Pakistan trade council between the two chambers of commerce.

As a document has been signed earlier between the Iran’s Zahedan Chamber of Commerce and Pakistan’s Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry on facilitation of barter trade, the two sides agreed to devise a mechanism to implement the document and provide the necessary software infrastructures within a month.
