Fakhreddin Amerian, the head of Iran-Brazil Joint Chamber of Commerce said on Monday that the Iranian private sector body and Brazil have made the agreements for launching an Iranian trade center in the Latin American country.
Fakhreddin Amerian made the announcement in a meeting of the chamber’s non-oil export development commission.
Amerian further announced the possibility of launching a direct shipping line between the two countries for development of mutual non-oil trade saying that he expects the Islamic Republic Shipping Lines (IRISL) will help establish the new route.
According to Amerian, Brazil is one of the biggest exporters of livestock feed to Iran, and launching a direct shipping line could offer an opportunity to balance trade between the two sides.

Stressing on the importance of barter trade between the Iran and Brazil, he further called on government entities to prepare a list of the commodities that could be bartered between the two sides.
Amerian put the value of annual trade between the two countries at 6 billion dollar, saying that imports from Brazil are double the value of Iran’s exports to the country.
