Iran has opened a trade center in the Belarusian capital city of Minsk.
The trade center was officially inaugurated by Mohammad Atabak, Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade.
The opening ceremony was also attended by Mohammad-Ali Dehghani Dehnavi, the head of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO).
During their stay in Minsk, the Iranian minister and the TPO head had a meeting with Iranian businesspeople in Belarus, where they discussed ways for facilitating trade between the two countries.
In December 2024, Akbar Godari, the director general of the TPO Central Asia, Caucasus, and Russia Department had announced that the Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade was to pay a visit to Belarus where he was expected to open a trade center in the country.
Godari emphasized the significance of trade relations with Belarus, underlining the country’s role as a member of the Eurasian Economic Union.
“This agreement provides significant competitive advantages for us. Moreover, Belarus has faced sanctions following the Russia-Ukraine war, creating new opportunities for Iranian companies,” he said.
